Mindy O’Brien, Chair & Company Secretary, Voice of Irish Concern for the Environment (VOICE)
Mindy is the retired CEO of VOICE of Irish Concern for the Environment, where she lead the organisation for 11 years. She is an environmental attorney, specialising in waste reduction and the circular economy, having worked as the Legislative Director for a Member of Congress in Washington DC. She is also the President of the Board for Zero Waste Europe and sits on the Board of the Irish Children’s Museum.
Elaine McGoff, Vice Chair, An Taisce
Dr. Elaine McGoff is Head of Advocacy with An Taisce, one of Ireland’s oldest and largest environmental organisations.
She works on a broad range of topics including land use, climate, biodiversity and water quality, with a particular focus on planning, policy and compliance with environmental legislation. She advocates widely for environmental protection and legal compliance throughout planning and licencing applications, and in Government policy.
Elaine has a PhD in Freshwater Ecology from Trinity College Dublin, and an Advanced Diploma in Planning and Environmental Law from Kings Inns. She is Vice Chair of the Sustainable Water Network (SWAN) and Steering Committee member of the Environmental Pillar.

Ignaitus has a special interest in protecting and developing our national resources especially as it relates o water quality and our indigenous fish stocks.

Andrew Shine, co-opted Director, Irish Whale and Dolphin Group
Andrew, known to friends as Shine, is a professional Marine Mammal Observer and mitigation consultant working in Ireland and abroad. While his main focus are cetaceans, he has varied experience across marine biology and has taken part in a number of national and international projects on coastal, near coast and deep-water adventures. Some of these include off-shore renewables, deep-sea exploration and even clearing the sea-floor of WW2 bombs! He is an Officer for the Irish Whale & Dolphin Group, and organises schedules, crews and logistics for the IWDG’s research vessel Celtic Mist.
Shine lives in West Cork with his wife & son and spends his time off kayaking, hiking and overloading those around him with Latin names for seaweed!
Tristram Whyte, co-opted Director, Irish Peatland Conservative Council
Tristram studied Applied Freshwater & Marine Biology and promotes the importance of peatland for biodiversity and sustainable freshwater management through his role as Policy Officer with the Irish Peatland Conservation Council.
Kieran Flood, co-opted Director, Irish Wildlife Trust
Kieran is the Chief Executive Officer of the Irish Wildlife Trust. He has a background in wildlife biology and science communication, having previously managed citizen science and community engagement projects for the IWT and other ENGOs. Kieran has experience working with charity boards on organisational governance and strategy and is responsible for the delivery of the IWT’s ambitious work programme.
